Synopsis

The IBCC is open for business. The IB Career-related Certificate is moving from the pilot stage of development to become a mainstream offering of the IB and as a result, is changing the public face of the IB. Already it is having a significant impact on the IB community. Schools now have different options for students wishing to pursue an IB education beyond middle school. Keynote speaker, Chris Mannix, Curriculum and Assessment Area Head, IB Cardiff, Wales, will address “New Additions to the IB Continuum”. The breakout sessions will focus on the idea of access and change. The Diploma will concentrate on the IBCC with Natasha Deflorian; MYP will explore “Changing the Continuum”; PYP will look at “Moving the PYP Forward”. All three programmes will come together in the afternoon to learn about one of the new elements of the IBCC Core, Approaches to Learning, and work together to see how to integrate its concepts across all IB Programmes.
