Synopsis

PYP Level 1

The overall purpose of the three-day workshops in this category is to provide professional development and assistance for schools that have decided to apply for IB authorization. This workshop is equally relevant for educators who are new to a school with an existing IB programme and those interested in joining an IB school.

1A. An introduction to the IB standards for New Administrators

The overall purpose of this workshop is to explore the philosophical and administrative implications of the IB programme standards and requirements with reference to PYP implementation.

1B. An introduction to the Curriculum Model

The overall purpose of this workshop is to introduce the PYP as a systematic and all encompassing curriculum through the study of Making the PYP Happen: a curriculum framework for international education (2007)

MYP Level 1

The overall goals of an MYP Level 1 workshop are to provide a general introduction to the programme; to increase the ease of application and authorization; to enable schools and teachers to be successful in early years of IB implementation. Participants will create initial drafts of their own applications and course designs.

MYP Level 2

The overall goals of an MYP Level 2 workshop are to improve the quality of the subject area content and pedagogy; to form a community of schools offering IB Programmes; to enhance the internationalism of the programme.
