  • CAWS scholarships and awards are only offered to member schools whose dues are received by the CAWS Treasurer by December 1st, 2012.
  • This application should be submitted in hard-copy form to Pat Prather, CAWS Executive Director, 6686 Via de La Reina, Bonsall, CA 92003
  • The due date for this application is December 1st, 2012.
  • Schools with winning applications will be notified in January 2013.

Award Description and Requirements

  • The Nancy and Cliff Forster Life-Long Learner Award recognizes students who demonstrate a genuine love of learning and who exemplify the IB Learner Profile.
  • Only one winner will be selected across all IB programs.
  • Students must be in the final year of their program, and at the DP level, only full IB Diploma candidates will be considered
  • Nominators must attach a word-processed, minimum one-page statement of why you are recommending this student for the CAWS Life-Long Learner Award. In your description, please include relevant evidence of achievement as well as student transcripts
  • Students must submit an essay: “Explain how you exhibit the IB Learner Profile in your life and how this has contributed to making you a life-long learner.” PYP students – minimum 200 words, MYP – 500 to 700 words, DP – 750-1000 words
  • The one winner will receive a plaque. If the winner is DP, he or she will also receive a cash award of $1,000. An MYP or PYP winner will receive $250 cash award and the school will also receive $250 to use towards their IB program(s).
  • The award should be presented at an assembly at your school
  • CAWS will consider only one application per school site or IB program.
  • Illegible nominations will not be considered.
